Finally, Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has become candid over the tasking experience while working on the 2022 movie ‘Liger’. The movie, which highlighted Vijay Deverakonda together with Panday, saw high expectations and did very badly in the cinema, only raking in ₹58 crore against its ₹100 crore budget.
In a recent interview, Ananya disclosed that she actually showed great discontent over several dialogues used in the movie. She felt that certain lines were not apt and didn’t show the sensibility of her generation. “Whenever I’m reading a script, I have this red flag thing going on in my mind, ‘No Gen-Z person speaks like this.’ This is not okay. It is my bound duty and responsibility as a woman to be that face and say this is not correct,” she said.
Ananya Panday also said that once she spoke about the stuff bothering her, her voice got heard by the filmmakers and they made the changes. She added, “I use my voice for anything that I feel is standing up for what I stand for, especially women’s representation in movies.”.
Undeterred over the ‘Liger’ disasters, Ananya has moved on to promote her upcoming series, ‘Call Me Bae‘, which will stream from September 6 on Amazon Prime Video. The new series shows her in an all-new refreshing avatar, showing that the girl really can act.
Ananya’s candor about her times working with ‘Liger’ was proof that an actor’s life is so difficult, and the battle to find representation and genuine acknowledgement through movies is an endless fight.
