The new film of Thalapathy Vijay has crossed Rs 300 crore at the worldwide box office in just five days. Titled “The Greatest of All Time”, shortly known as GOAT, this spy thriller has broken records since it hit theatres on September 5, 2024. The film is directed by Venkat Prabhu.
The film reportedly collected Rs 288 crore worldwide in the first four days. On day five, “GOAT” added another Rs 14 crore nett at the domestic box office and crossed the Rs 300 crore mark with ease, including overseas collections.
This, even though mixed reviews about the film came in. More importantly, bringing in fans in droves, the performance of the film at the box office was stellar, too. According to early estimates, GOAT has netted Rs 106 crore nett in Tamil Nadu alone in its first weekend to become Vijay Thalapathy eighth such film in the state.
According to analysts tracking the trade, “GOAT” has fared equally well internationally. The film opened at number 5 in Norway, collecting Rs 65 lakh in the opening weekend. It had some decent footfalls in Finland too, with a collection of Rs 13 lakh.
With no major releases this month, “GOAT” will still have a better run in the theatres. The success of this film will seal Thalapathy Vijay’s position as one of the leading stars in the Indian film industry.
