In what has now been an unparalleled feat for Disney and Pixar, “Inside Out 2” has battered box office records by collecting a handsome amount of $1,462.8 million worldwide. It crossed the earlier record of “Frozen II,” which had $1,454 million, to make this animated sequel the new king in the hearts and wallets of people across the world.
Helmed by Kelsey Mann, “Inside Out 2” is set to release in North America on June 12, followed by sweeping international day and date releases. The movie has set a new record for the debuting weekend by obtaining an amazing $295 million worldwide. That is, through current exchange and in the like-for-like market. It is set to breach the $1 billion global milestone in a mere 19 days, which is a record for the fastest a movie has done so.
Amazingly, “Inside Out 2” is ranked as the number-one grossing film of 2024, standing as the only film thus far to break the $1 billion barrier. If that is not enough, it just broke the box office barrier to become the number-one highest-grossing Pixar film worldwide.
The international journey of the film goes on and on, with Japan yet to release on August 1. For now, the leading overseas markets that take the lead in its success include Mexico – $98.6 million, Brazil – $73.9 million, the UK – $61.2 million, Korea – $56.5 million, and France – $52.3 million.
“Inside Out 2” has indeed marvelously won over audiences as one of the most touching and engagingly told stories and has won its place in the annals of animation history. Joy to toon town, another phenomenal success by Disney in the magical world of cinema.
